Best Fit Precision Parts partners with reliable investment casting foundry, which produce a broad range of high-grade precision castings and machined parts. Materials include stainless steel, heat-resistant steel, carbon steel, low-alloy steel, high-temperature steel and non-ferrous alloys. We adopt the advanced silica sol investment casting process, supported by complete precision machining and surface treatment capabilities.
Precision cast steel (lost-wax cast steel) is produced by investment casting. It delivers high dimensional precision, fine surface quality, sound internal structure and superior performance, serving aerospace, marine, automotive and machinery sectors.
The production process of precision cast steel parts is as follows:
- Mold making: Fabricate plaster or metal molds according to the shape and dimensions of the casting.
- Pattern making: Inject molten wax or resin into the mold; a wax pattern (investments pattern) is formed after cooling.
- Shell building: Coat the pattern with refractory slurry, then dry to form the ceramic shell.
- Pouring: Pour molten steel into the ceramic shell.
- Solidification: The molten steel cools and solidifies inside the shell to form the casting.
- Finishing & cleaning: Remove gates, risers, flash and burrs from the casting, followed by surface cleaning.
- Heat treatment: Conduct normalizing, annealing, quenching or other heat treatments to improve the mechanical properties of the casting.
